Flo Rida is an America rapper. He was born in 1979 and his real name is Tramar Dillard.
Flo Rida’s debut album, Mail On Sunday, was released in 2008 and the debut single from it, Low (which featured T-Pain), held the number one spot in America for 10 weeks. Other singles from the album were Elevator and In The Ayer.
In 2009, Flo Rida’s second album, R.O.O.T.S was released, with the single Right Round being particularly successful and staying at the top of the Hot 100 for six weeks. Since then Flo Rida has released a further album, Only One Flo (Part 1). A follow-up called Wild Ones is planned.
Dillard was born in Florida, hence the stage name, and he has seven sisters. He comes from a musical background and joined a group whilst he was in ninth grade called GroundHoggz. The group had three members originally – 1Bred, Key Lime and Fist – and Flo Rida became the fourth member after he created an impressive verse for them.
Flo Rida was rejected by a number of record labels in the early days of his music career and this led him to pursue work outside the music industry. However, his enthusiasm was re-ignited when he received a call from someone from an indie label.
The rapper also featured on a single by Alexandra Burke, who won the British X Factor. Bad Boys reached number one in the UK.
