Pazuzu ov Kur - The Descent of Inanna (feat. Marlène van Heijenoort)

From the great above the holy Inanna
Turned ear to Kur below, decided to seize it
She abandoned earth, her temples and shrines
Gathered all seven mes and began her descent
Kur I come! Await me!
Armoured and ready she asked for Ninshubur
Her vizir and warrior to look for her return
If I'm not to return, circle the houses of gods
Find Enki my father and ask for his rescue
Kur! Here I come
Your mistress' home
Bow in awe
I'm your goddess now
Ereshkigal's gone
Worship me now!
She knocked loudly on Ganzer's doors
Ask and asked again for Neti to open her
For every door she passed she gave up ornaments
And got fully naked to meet Ereshkigal
Sister! You are not welcome!
She made her sister stand and sat upon her throne
Gazed upon Great Below but things were not settled
Juges Annunaki advised against her rule
Turned her into a corpse and hang her on a hook
Kur! Here I stay
The Fake mistress' away
Bow in awe
Your goddess stays home
Inanna is dead and done
Worship me now!
Ninshubur pleaded but gods refused to help
Only her father Enki agreed to rescue her
Enki's emissaries convinced Ereshkigal
To give up the body of our holy Inanna
Give my daughter back! Gaka-Tura, Kur-jara revive her!
Gaka-tura and Kur-jara sprinkled the corpse
With food and water of life and revived Inanna
But she couldn't leave, Gallas wouldn't let her go
So she traded her place with her husband
Kur! Here I leave
I won't rule here
Bow in awe
As I depart now
Dumuzid's left to you
I'm done with him too
