I fell asleep again in the middle of the day
My thoughts became more vivid just before I slipped away
The dream I had was hazy, I was tryin' to catch a bird
When my fingers almost touched it, I woke up with a sound I heard

I struggled out of bed onto my moonlit bedroom floor
I saw a beam of light pouring out under my door
I heard a quiet voice, tried to whisper back in vain
Before i said a word I fell asleep again
