Joey Diatte - Tics

Hi so today I wanted to introduce you to something new
That question that some of you may be asking
Is it exhausting well yes on some days it's very taxing
It's about that thing that I do with my face
I know it's something that doesn't often take place
But after hearing this story some of you may feel closer to me than intertwine lace
So let me put it this way...
Just like a punch equals a bruise
Anxiety equals a tic
And Ticking faces equals laughs like a bunch of weights equals lats
And I'm not telling you this to get you back
Or writing this just to take off my so called mask
But I'm speaking with my once unconfident voice
To tell you that you too have a fighting chance
When Dr visits become tedious
And side comments bite with venom
And the hardest task was just to walk up to them
And getting peoples attention was a fight to earn
So All I felt was hopelessness in return
Fighting for relationship
But lacking ability to even make conversation
Some may say that can't even tell!
But I saw it larger than the very pit of hell

Because all I ever wanted was to be someone else

But what if You can't sing what if You can't dance
Your gifts don't belong to others
So stop trying to be someone else
Stop trying to dress the part
Don't Cover up your broken heart

Cuz What if you do stand out in a crowd
What if you don't look Iike what is to be socially sound
Well Im here to tell you to wear your uniqueness like the logo on your T-shirt
To douce your self with it like some do cologne spray It on proud

Stop listening to people saying that
You are under par
Or insignificant
That a tic, a unique trait, or a little freckle on your face
Makes you less of what he created you to be in this place

If you remember anything from this poem remember this

Comparison is the thief of all joy
To put it personally comparison is a thief of Joey

So Be yourself today, not a fake golden trophy hanging on a shelf
But be yourself, who he created you to be

Cuz If people don't know you truly, they won't know how to love you
Just like If you don't know people truly you won't know how to love them
