Joey Diatte - War

My life is a war
And it's not on usual battle grounds seen in movies and I know that
The battle field is the heart
The two sides are ferocious enemies
With different weapons and things to say
They walk the fields of my heart and my brain
The vulnerable or the brave

My life is a war
Lies vs truth
Sparks of silver, war wounds, and a broken tooth
And it's not just me
There's battle fields walking around the streets
Wars in the grocery story with no words but inside agony
Both sides longing to defeat
Everyone's in the scene, everyones underneath the pain

The two sides knuckles continue to bleed
Staring at the flesh more hungry than ever to feed
The dark wants nothing more than blood

Starving for the Win knowing all the well they are bound for defeat
Simply at the thought of the nails that were in his feet
And the Tears that streamed endlessly for victory

But they won't stop
They lie in crimson pain
Putting Wounds in brains and gashes in hearts
Warfare with fresh meat everyday to pick a part
Don't look in the mirror
Or you'll be scratched with the brokenness that shatters reflections with lies
To trip you up on your walk to your job
You haven't said a word but you've heard more words in your head
Than you've said in your lifetime in a span of 2 hours
The morning is a battle, the day is the war
But the days come in waves and the dark side thirsts for more

Stop thinking
The agony continues to scrape at the glimpse of happiness in a picture frame
Darkness running toward the light
Shadows eager to break the fences of reality
Thats the fight
We are the bodies in the field of holiness's fight for more
More people on the worlds realest battle grounds

Life
Happiness all the time or suffering
"There will be suffering" if you fight for the side dressed in white
Cuz Paul says" In fact
Everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted"
But They don't wanna hear it
The dark side temporarily wins for partial smiles and chipped hopelessness for a little while

But What if I told you it wasn't an even match
That one side was strong enough to dismantle the strongest latch
That a fire could blaze at a small light of a match
That there's no break of a bone too large that he can't reattach
This is Jesus clothes in his full armor
Fighting as a hero
The greatest warrior of all time
With the look of a normal man
Wearing the crown of a king
Woven in thorns
Cuz it wasn't his plan to come and scare so that everyone ran
And the battle was over like a scam
But to love in the heat of agony
To show his power
Resemble his fathers glory
He's Yahweh
Father
Protector
Even in the field of battle
He's good
He's faithful
He's real
Just as real as the war
A race to the hearts of his people
He created them but the other side fights for them knowing they belong to him
It's the war inside all of us

This is the call of a warrior
The call of a fighter
Fight
Don't give up
It's not gonna be easy
But your not alone
Unless you want to
Try to do alone tho and trust me I don't know if it will work out
Don't hold that sword up by yourself and tell me your strong
That's fake news and fake strength
Just a fake expression with the beauty of a song
The battles been won for you
You accept that
Being bought with a price
Now it's your chance to fight with an army surround yourself and begin
Be an example to them
