It starts slowly
You plant a seed
In the right environment it grows

Eventually it overcomes the old growth that for whatever reason wasn't as strong as it used to be
After awhile the entire forest is overtaken by the new growth

However, the differences are subtle
The variation between the new and the old species is hardly noticeable
Until one day you're staring into a part of the forest you're so familiar with
Its every detail you could recall perfectly from memory

And that's when you notice
Every aspect about it has changed
However slightly

And I know people like that
They've become utterly unrecognizable
They're walking in their very own forest
I wonder if they've noticed yet
