Loose Roosters - To What End

From across a big expanse
Came down before
Finding ways and all the things
That I'd been looking for
And as it passed over
I knew I was alive
Suddenly someone spoke
As I began to cry

The pain was bigger
The second time around
Deep inside I knew to hide
From the view laid down
Ask in tones of reverence
My answer came
There I was staring at my shoes out of frame

To what end will it be
What is the end for me

You must think it's easy
To speak and not be heard
To tell a lie that makes
Even truth look absurd
I may be gone but not forgotten
Tried and sometimes true
You can't even think a lie
As big as the one that I've construed
