St. Orwell - Eyes Like the Devil

Most nights got eyes like the devil
Barely present got better places to be
An after hours escapist, chasing, some momentary relief
This world's pervaded by peril
This rat race got me wracked with uncertainty
Nightly three hour vacation, that I'm taking
Helps maintain my sanity

For one brief moment I'm on a lilo
Floating on the calmest of seas
The bluest of skies above me
The most pure sort of peace
But it's just a matter of time though
Until I go crash-land back in reality
Serenity vacates and is replaced by much harsher scenery

I keep my eyes like the devil
Cos all I see is dysfunctionality
It's all stressful to ponder
So I wander through my mind infinitely
When I return to your level
I crave that place where it's just my thoughts and me
I need three hours of time out, to unwind, and secure some serenity

Well I can see clearly now he haze is gone but don't care much for the sight
Cos there's a far better world awaiting me when I clock off at five
By that time I'll ensure the whole world is out of mind and out of sight
Consumed by the moment man, right here right now
Slouched blissfully in the clouds
Tell this world that don't sleep I've said goodnight
My eyes like the devil
