GodKing Preach - Requiem For A Dream

While politicing with my patna Armani up in his pop's Porsche
Plotting on how to get the Bugatti and pull the top off
I realized every man alive should have a dream
To live for or for him to die tryna achieve
It could be maintaining and providing for his seed
Or going over ABC's while he teach him how to read
Life is a bitch if you and got a pot to piss in
Or the will to fight with opposition then nigga why you living
Some niggas thrive off of competition
Like me I'm tryna be the livest with these compositions
My man'll probably never make it to a key
But he say he plan to make a million dollars in the streets
At least he got a dream
A lot of niggas aint built for
Tryna live the type of lifestyle that niggas kill for
My nigga robbed a lady kidnapped her baby
Got jammed up now he won't see the light of day til 2038 G
He was 18, wanted to ball for a NBA team
Now he in a cage cuz he property of the state
Where all they dream about is freedom, getting back on the streets
I hope and pray pon his release he turn his back on the streets
And that I have paper to break him off from this rap shit
For now I find it hard to navigate through all the crab shit
But it'll happen, my dream is big and in it my team is rich
Even if we gotta scheme and shit, get the creme and flip
What happens to a dream deferred though
Is it on a furlough or should you put it in a hearse yo
I asked my papa if when he was young he had a dream
He told me yeah but then he had a son he had to feed
I wonder if he wake for to stop and pray for it
Did he try to make a way for it or stop and wait for it
Probably not cuz when a dream dies It don't scream cry
Or take a last shit or piss, its as if it didn't exist then that's it
I flex for em all these niggas lost how they expect you to ball
You gotta crawl before you walk these niggas destined to stall
That fly shit don't las forever niggas dress in the fall
But when the summer come round they gotta give you the run down
Like he had the range in the winter but then the spring came
Now he'll be gone til November nigga I seen things
That fast money don't last money if you don't pace it
Just cuz it takes some time don't mean you won't ever make it
Some times you gotta start from the bottom you know the basics
The real bottom flow though my nigga not on no Drake shit
No disrespect but its niggas that's in the west that need to hear this
They got try to pull you down this just something to lift your spirits
My biggest fear is not making it out but fuck that
If niggas aint riding with me I'll go and get me a bus pass
These strangers gon hear me and love me love me or hate me
You either gon feel me or slug me can't none of it break me
I came for where niggas aint shit but the be gassed
Hatin sayin niggas aint shit cuz they be ass
In my late 20's my girl had some faith in me
Its been six years for five she waited so patiently
Then she sat me down and said she needed time to her self
Took the son that we raised said maybe he can shine for himself
But how he gon know he God if all he got is his Earth
Who gon show him sometimes you gotta make it out of the dirt
Like get your hands dirty son put in some work
You either build or destroy on this earth I chose the former
And if I had to give up my dream for his dreams
Just so he can make it far on this earth I'd be a farmer
When I asked my grandfather he told me the truth
He said you'll understand if you ever let go of the booth
And he aint have to eulogize his dream cuz if it died
It resurrected through the birth of his seed
'Tween you and I
I aint saying I'm giving up im just saying my little man
6 Years old 4 feet tall he a little man
I went to God time after time with my lil plans
Rhyme after rhyme line after line for my lil fans
Still dreamin
