Last year alone all the losses seemed to pile
Became a struggle just to find a reason to smile
Couldn't watch the news steadily, I needed a buffer
The pandemic brought so many ways for people to suffer
Had to social distance at a time we needed each other
Then my mom passed away, I thought I'd never recover
Still in the grief state, still trying to navigate
Stress and anxiety still trying to agitate
But I know I'm too strong to not carry on
And livin' fully is the best way to honor my mom
She's the one who taught me to fight, and to never quit
So I'ma give my all in the this life for the rest of it
And I'ma never view my losses as a deficit
Each one brought a lesson that was heaven sent
So I'ma always take action like a predicate
And make the rest of my life, the best of it
