Griotzoe - PORT AU PRINCE

Yeah Port au prince, Haiti
Griotzoe
Sak pase
It's the Griotzoe boy, in music I find joy
All I ever wanted was them lil music toys
I used to be in acapella group singing with my cousins
I used to play soccer with bottles barefoot I had no choice
And my parents whipped my ass a lot when I skipped school
For fun, I used to play with marbles for funds with the young bulls
Hell yeah I was a fool, but I was a smart dude
Sometimes the Fam and I slept on top of the house to feel cool
We used to walk so many miles away with my pops and mother
We travelled under the sun trying to get some water
But I always got mad love for my city
I used to eat bread, dipped in sweet water, I was hungry
I'm from Haiti, I grew up in Port au prince
I used to listen to Michael before I knew Prince
My mother tried to keep me look nice, I was her lil prince
It feels like I'm been on the titanic but I won't sink
I'm from the very bottom, man I swear I fought Lucifer
It still not easy, but shit used to be way harder
God had my back then, still has it now, I walk on water
I'm tryna go up, no elevator, I need a ladder
And how about that time I played with kites bigger than me
I was on top of a building, almost died trying to live
Even when I had nothing, I tried to do something
I collected empty gallons to make cars with my bestfriend
I always had toys, we made them and tried to have joy
They called me Kaka, I was the shit when I played ball
And it took some balls to play domino with clips
All over your arms and face standing on you feet
What you know about this
I'm from Haiti, I grew up in Port au prince
I used to listen to Michael before I knew Prince
My mother tried to keep me look nice, I was her lil prince
It feels like I'm been on the titanic but I won't sink
