Oleanders Sound - The Windowsill
The Rabbit sat
On the windowsill
Quietly
She watched
As sheep grazed
On cattle fields
Where strawberries blossomed
And blushed
Secrets
They whispered
Oh, so silently
Whispers only
The mind could see
Till death do us part
We promised ye
Yet our hearts split
Beat by beat
Yet there she sat,
Sipping her cup
Full of poison
And her blood
Denials kept
Her ignorance to bliss
And she never
Heard
Thoughts that were amiss
Day by day
Sunrise to set
These sheep would get further
Away they kept
Following the mountains
In the East
While the Rabbit
Looked upward
At their shining fleece
Dreaming of
The day that would come
When she'd leave her home
Built out of scum
Grow wings and fly
Chase down the sun
From the sky
Eternally
Is there she waits
Patiently
For a key to her gate
Watching those sheep
Run further away
Until they all
Look small and grey
