Tony Montana - I Hate School

I do know this, I don't like school
Never fit in, never followed the rules
But now I'm skipping class, posted smoking on the roof
And from where I sit, it's a hell of a view
Homies hit me up, tell 'em all come through
Girlies hit me up, tell 'em all come through
Day dream in class man that's all I do
So now I'm setting out to make them all come true
No school taught me to write these lines
No school taught me to rhyme these rhymes
In the classroom from time to time
But I'm only in there sweet talkin' the dimes like
Hey, is you doin alright? Like
Hey, whatchu doin' tonight? Like
Hey, let's get to it tonight
If you doin' it with me, then you doin' it right
I'm a college celebrity
On the race to fame and there ain't no one ahead of me
Was staying in my lane but now I'm finished with settling
Sick of listening to what the system is telling me
Check it: If you smart then they have to test it
And if you don't care they say you're misdirected
Ain't nobody guessing as to what they're interested in
Just the 50 thousand dollars that your mom and dad invested
Look: they just taking the bread
In exchange for taking up the space in my head
But I can graduate this without breaking a sweat
So if I can make it I'll take the paper instead
I'm in a place where I can walk away
Dedicate to making sure my songs get paid
And I ain't saying that I'ma do it today but
Shit, dropping out worked out for Kanye
See I've been working day and night, tryna make it rapping
And in my free time tryna make it to my classes
Faking my exams and just praying that I'll pass it
Embarking on the path to surpass all this whack shit
So I practice, cuz I won't make it otherwise
Now I know for sure I don't belong with these other guys
Sitting at the desks with the gum on the undersides
Head in our hands, thoughts lost in the summertime
I got them butterflies fluttering in my tummy
When I put together my album I'ma go out and get this money
But these teachers tell me that I have to wait
"Cuz to make it in the 'real world' you have to graduate"
From white boards to psych wards, desk rows to death row
The system institutionalizes us from the get-go
Give the kids a couple pills for breakfast with their Eggos
And Presto! A school full of zombies with a dress code
But that's the way that it goes
They treat a piece of paper like it's plated in gold
Like Willy Wonka's winning ticket making the mold
To make you think that your diploma is a yellow brick road
To a job making paper, with instant success
But you think that you made it there by acing your tests?
You're as complacent as the hamster when they got you on the wheel
Shit, I'm outta here, I don't need that deal
